SIGA Sport Integrity Week webinar to feature EPIC team and special guests
To mark this year’s SIGA Sport Integrity Week (November 11-17), EPIC Global Solutions are bringing together an informative panel to help explain how gambling harm education programs help to maintain sporting integrity.
Key to discussing this topic will be Greg Swift, director of communications and corporate affairs, British Horseracing Authority, and Scott Davies, one of EPIC’s consultants, whose professional soccer career was blighted by the effects of problem gambling. Moderating discussion and bringing insight that he also provides to SIGA’s Sports Betting Integrity Committee will be Martin Bland, SVP Commercial at EPIC.
The trio will be hosting their discussion via the ‘How gambling harm education programmes maintain sporting integrity’ webinar at 3pm GMT (10am ET; 7am PT) on Thursday, November 14, with registration open now for the event via bit.ly/EPICxSIGAWebinar to guarantee an access link via email ahead of the start time.
The webinar – which will be of particular importance to viewers who work in elite sport, the gambling sector, or any of their associated industries – will assess sports wagering partnerships and the positive dynamic they can provide for the sports industry, one which reflects a progressive relationship between gambling operators and major sports teams and leagues.
Often a controversial topic, these relationships are held up for scrutiny against claims that these relationships have a negative impact on fans, athletes, and on society in general.
The panel shall discuss how sports wagering partnerships can be used to protect the most vulnerable people in society and to also ensure that responsible gaming is at the heart of every partnership.
There will also be an investigation into the delivery of the harm prevention sessions that these partnerships generate and how they can also help to maintain sporting integrity and aid compliance within each competition/sport.
