World Suicide Prevention Day 2021

Today is World Suicide Prevention Day.

Suicide awareness and prevention is extremely pertinent to the work we do here at EPIC Risk Management, helping mitigate against the risks and potentially devastating effects of problem gambling and gambling harm. Today is an extremely stark and important reminder of how important what we do is… and why we do it!

Founded in lived experience, 50% of our cherished team have lived experience of problem gambling, several of whom attempted or thought about suicide in the past. Members of our team have plunged to the very depths of the human experience, but with the correct support and guidance have found recovery and turned to educating others through their inspiring work.

Addiction does not discriminate, and it is crucial we persist with the mission of taking the problem out of gambling through education, awareness, and prevention, to help people make better-informed decisions and remain safe from gambling-related harm and consequent suffering.

I’m very proud to be leading this incredible group of people within our EPIC family, aiming to save lives through their own very personal and inspiring stories.
