World Health Day 2022
Today marks World Health Day 2022, an annually celebrated day to emphasise health topics of concern to people globally, and the founding anniversary of the World Health Organisation (WHO) in 1948.
One of EPIC Risk Management’s core values is ‘people’, with people at the heart of everything they do, so the organisation realise the importance of promoting positive mental health and wellbeing inside and outside the workplace.
Staff wellbeing is always a priority and the organisation’s wellbeing working group – who are working on their vision to create a positive, inclusive, and authentic workplace culture and implementing a successful wellbeing strategy – have recently arranged for staff to gain access to VP GO, ‘the ultimate health and wellbeing programme for employees’.
VP GO comprises of a global challenge, digital coaching, a wealth of health and wellbeing content and social features – all delivered with a high dose of fun and a feel-good factor to positively develop employees’ physical and mental health, consequently improving overall wellbeing and adding to the current strategy which is to be impactful in all areas of EPIC employees’ lives.
The platform goes live next week, and once registered, all EPIC employees will claim a free max buzz device to link to the VP GO app. Each person will receive a personalised platform which can be tailored to manage each individual’s personal goals and interests.
At the end of May, a nine-week challenge called ‘The Great Adventure’ will begin – this is a physical initiative that each pillar within EPIC Risk Management will participate in, going head-to-head for glory.
Pippa Robson, programme manager at EPIC and leader of the wellbeing group, comments on the impact she hopes this will have on staff:
“Enrolment to the challenge opens sixty days prior, so before then we will bring in mini challenges to get the EPIC team moving, on their feet, and encourage people to get outdoors.
“Our aim is to weave EPIC’s wellbeing strategy throughout everything we do. VP GO gets employees working together as a team and individually, and encourages physical activity which consequently improves wellbeing, work life balance, and provides physical and mental health benefits which is hugely important.
“There are seven areas of wellbeing and in the upcoming months, I’d like to have an initiative in place to cover all key areas to provide a holistic approach to EPIC’s wellbeing strategy.”
