Spencer to speak at significant upcoming conferences
EPIC Global Solutions’ director of safer gambling, Dan Spencer, is going to feature at two key industry events in as many months, as demand for his expertise around lived experience of gambling-related harm continues to grow.
The winner of the Compliance Rising Star Awards at last year’s VIXIO GamblingCompliance Global Regulatory Awards will be a moderator, panellist and breakout session leader across different events, to help outline to different audiences why a prevention-based method is crucial to mitigating the risk of harm.
First up, in a fortnight’s time, he’ll be on stage at London’s final hosting of ICE, the major gaming industry gathering at the city’s ExCeL conference venue. During the second afternoon of the event (Wednesday 7th February), he’ll be hosting the panels taking place within the Consumer Protection Zone (CPZ) in the role of chairperson, taking over the hot seat from 2.15pm onwards, as well as contributing expertise to the panel discussions.
Conversation topics during the afternoon will include ‘Sustainable player journey step by step’, ‘Unveiling the journey from problem gambling detection to effective intervention’ and ‘From detection to effective interactions – research and best practice’. The following month, Spencer will then be involved in another London-based event at the Kia Oval – the iconic Test cricket venue and home of Surrey County Cricket Club – as part of Kindred’s Sustainable Gambling Conference.
Under the event’s theme of ‘Safer gambling: A look into the future’, he’ll be among a mix of renowned international speakers on the day, representing major global brands such as Gamban, EGBA, KPMG, Rdentify and TransUnion, with each sharing insight and experience into how safer gambling is transforming.
He’ll be leading one of the day’s breakout sessions on ‘Duty of care: how to make it work for all stakeholders’, which you can potentially attend – in person or virtually – by registering your interest here.
On the same bill, EPIC’s safer gambling manager, Craig Cornforth, will also be a participant on a panel discussion, reflecting on the lived experience of gambling-related harm.
The confirmation of Spencer and Cornforth’s appearances comes hot on the heels of their fellow safer gambling team member, Alan Smart, also featuring on an informative webinar today.
He was part of the panel supporting SG:certified’s ‘How to make the industry sustainable’ discussion, alongside esteemed fellow guests Dr Maris Catania (safer gambling senior consultant, SG:certified), Ewa Bakun (director of industry insight and engagement, Clarion Gaming), Jay Robinson (director of safer gambling and stakeholder engagement, Focal Research) and Ann-Kathrin Baumgardt (VP of sales and customer development, Future Anthem).
