Safer Gambling Week: Our 52 weeks a year mission

At EPIC Risk Management we are of the unwavering belief that the emphasis on gambling harm prevention should be a 365-day approach. In simple terms, safer gambling is not just a one-week message – it must be a year-round focus.

We welcome the extra focus Safer Gambling Week brings on these issues, as it is an opportunity to shine some light on this subject and spotlight innovations and important messages that marry with our mantra of minimising gambling-related harm.

With the extra focus that Safer Gambling Week brings, we’d like to reiterate EPIC’s opinion that every gambling transaction, every minute, every hour, and every day of every week, should be safer. Nobody should be able to gamble any time or money that they cannot afford to lose.

There is still much work to do for everyone in the gambling ecosystem. The operators, the regulators and the politicians – who have such a vital role in providing and ensuring a safer environment for those who choose to gamble – still have work to undertake for us to be in a scenario where we are minimising gambling-related harm.

So, for EPIC, Safer Gambling Week is business as usual. We will continue to work around education, awareness training and consultancy to reduce gambling-related harm in the highest risk sectors.

Safer Gambling Week is a Europe-wide concept which, this year, is being held from 1st-7th November 2021.
