Patrick Foster to depart EPIC
Patrick Foster today departs from his role as head of delivery for education and CSR at EPIC Risk Management after four and a half years with the leading gambling harm minimisation consultancy.
One of the most publicly visible members of our team, during his tenure with EPIC, ‘Patch’ has visited hundreds of schools in both the state and private sector, educating thousands of students through his lived experience story of gambling-related harm. He has also presented to numerous clients across a range of sectors, including elite football, rugby union and cricket clubs, and major employers in the construction industry.
Prior to joining the company, Foster was a professional cricketer, insurance broker and independent school teacher, with all three careers interrupted by his experience of gambling harm.
His journey was charted in his autobiography ‘Mite Bite’, which was released in February 2022, heightening a media profile that has seen him share his story across a wide spectrum of the UK’s best-known print and broadcast outlets.
Reflecting on the end of Patrick’s association with EPIC, CEO Paul Buck explained:
“Patch has been one of the longest-serving members of our lived experience team and leaves the EPIC family with our blessing to pursue a new direction after years of positive contributions to our mission to take the problem out of gambling.
“He has shared his story with thousands of people and helped countless individuals and their families, both by preventing harm in the first place and through direct interventions with those who reached out in need of advice on where to turn for treatment and support.
“We thank Patch for dedicating the last four and a half years to EPIC and look forward to following the next steps in his career, where we trust he will continue to share his story for the benefit of others and remain an ally in our ambition of minimising gambling-related harm.”
