Patrick Foster joins Adrian Chiles on BBC Radio 5 Live

EPIC Risk Management’s Head of Delivery (Education & CSR), Patrick Foster joined Adrian Chiles on his BBC Radio 5 Live show to talk about the launch of his new book ‘Might Bite: The Secret Life of a Gambling Addict’.

Patrick spoke of his lived experience and the devastating effects of his past gambling addiction, before explaining the work he now undertakes in his role at EPIC Risk Management as Head of Delivery (Education & CSR):

“EPIC was set up in 2013 by somebody who had been through something like me. He recognised that work was being done to help people on the edge of the cliff, or having fallen off, but not enough in terms of education and prevention.

“We use our lived experiences to try to educate people in what are identified as the highest risk sectors, to allow them to make more informed choices…We’re not anti-gambling, we understand that lots of people can gamble and be in control, but others can’t and what cannot continue to happen is what happened to those like me.

“We also need to try to raise awareness and understanding of this addiction and the potentially devastating consequences that it has.”
