FanDuel’s Play Well Day brings an RG message to five cities in one day
For a second year in a row, FanDuel engaged the services of EPIC Global Solutions to help share a Responsible Gaming Education Month (RGEM) message with their staff, as teams across five cities in three different countries heard a personal testimony of how problem gambling can occur, but can also be avoided with the right intervention.
EPIC sent representatives to FanDuel’s bases in Atlanta, Los Angeles, New York, Toronto and Edinburgh for ‘Play Well Day’, as teams in the US, Canada and UK all heard a ‘lived experience’ recollection of their previous gambling disorder issues, fused with informed advice on how to spot similar traits in others to promote interventions and proactive conversations with customers to prevent further cases wherever possible.
The impactful discussion opportunities and extended question and answer sessions were attended by hundreds of FanDuel employees, ensuring that a considerable proportion of their workforce received a timely reminder of the importance of responsible gaming practices, during the annual awareness month devoted to the concept, observed every September in the US.
Throughout the month, employees across the business participate in a range of activities in addition to lived experience sessions, including a companywide live-streamed programme on Play Well Day, RG team ‘lunch and learns’, volunteerism events and peer-to-peer employee recognition efforts.
“We were thrilled to have Patrick Chester from EPIC Global Solutions join us in Los Angeles for Responsible Gaming Education Month as a guest speaker,” explained Tara Nulty, LA office workspace manager for FanDuel – representing one of the five venues that hosted the talks.
“His presentation was outstanding – he spoke with poise, vulnerability, effectively engaging our team while educating us on such an important topic. Overall, it was an enlightening experience and a huge success at our FanDuel office!”
“Raising awareness across the industry is especially important this month as it’s Responsible Gaming Education Month,” explained Dave Sproson, head of delivery at EPIC Global Solutions.
“The passion, curiosity, and engagement of everyone involved has been outstanding. FanDuel’s teams are a credit to the company, and their commitment to responsible gaming is what makes working with them so rewarding.”
Gambling operators globally will have a chance to engage directly with EPIC Global Solutions in Lisbon this week, as Sproson and other senior members of the team deliver a showcase on the important role that safer gambling practices play in the sustainability of the gambling industry as part of the SBC Summit; one of the world’s showpiece gambling expos.
