Episode one of The EPIC PGAM Podcast is live
EPIC Global Solutions are continuing to further the discussion around lived experience’s role in the quest to mitigate gambling-related harm by launching The EPIC PGAM Podcast.
The special broadcast to coincide with March’s Problem Gambling Awareness Month in the US is intended to showcase how this year’s event theme of ‘Every Story Matters’ is in perfect alignment with the approach that EPIC takes, basing its education, advisory and consultancy model around the benefit of learning from the past experience of those who have encountered problem gambling at first hand.
Episode one shines a light on the company’s largest delivery programme in the US; our work to educate student-athletes and staff within all three divisions of the NCAA.
Released to coincide with the start of their iconic March Madness tournament, the NCAA’s managing director of enforcement, Mark Hicks, meets with our host and programme facilitator Mike Huber – who also presents on the NCAA programme – to discuss topics such as the importance of the programme in bringing the reasons for compliance regulations to life, the response to the sessions across the country and the challenges faced by student-athletes now that they can personally be the subject of in-game betting.
Running at just over half an hour, it provides a fascinating first-hand insight into a topic that is regularly being discussed across the media, showcasing how the NCAA is taking a front-foot approach to protecting the people within its care from the unintended consequences of newly-legalised sports wagering across most states.
