EPIC to present free webinar during Safer Gambling Week
EPIC Risk Management will mark Safer Gambling Week with a free webinar featuring an eye-opening story of gambling harm during the heightened week of awareness surrounding the issue.
‘Marc Williams: My Problem Gambling Story’ will premiere on Thursday 20th October to allow an online audience to understand the effects of gambling harm and the reason behind the range of work undertaken by EPIC in the areas of education, training, advice and consultancy.
The online broadcast has been timed to ensure that it falls during Safer Gambling Week (17th-23rd October), which is an annual cross-industry initiative to promote safer gambling across the UK and Ireland.
Marc Williams is a former professional footballer – still playing on a semi-professional basis with Llandudno in the JD Cymru North League – who represented Wales U21 alongside future global stars such as Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey. However, addiction impacted his life on and off the pitch, with gambling harm directly affecting both his career and his family.
He’ll be telling the full story – along with some pertinent facts and advice relating to problem gambling and how best to avoid or identify it – via the free webinar at 4pm BST on Thursday 20th October (11am EDT / 8am PDT for US audiences), which you can sign up for now, via our EventBrite platform. Once registered, you will receive a streaming link on the day, in order to watch the video live as it premieres via our YouTube channel. However, don’t be deterred from signing up if you can’t tune in live, as the stream will remain available to watch on delay during the premiere period, or in full at any time once it has finished.
