EPIC nominated for Investors In People’s ‘UK Employer of the Year’ award
EPIC Global Solutions have received another welcome nomination for a top industry award, having been named among the shortlisted candidates for the ‘UK Employer of the Year’ award at this year’s Investors In People Awards.
Already enjoying a fantastic relationship with Investors In People (IIP) – who last year named us as a Platinum accredited organisation for the emphasis we place on the people in our employment – the nomination in the award category for organisations with 2-49 employees ranks us even higher within all the country’s Platinum-rated companies.
Having been informed earlier in the year that we had been placed within IIP’s top 20 organisations of our size, we now know that we’re within the top seven within the UK, having been named alongside six other contenders for the awards ceremony that will take place on Wednesday 13th November at Old Billingsgate in London.
The ceremony marked its tenth anniversary in 2023 and will once again celebrate individual and organisational success at this year’s event. EPIC were last represented at the ceremony in 2021, when we received nominations in two categories, fresh from reaching IIP’s Gold certification status the year before, in response to the company’s successful pivot to continue operating successfully during the Covid-19 pandemic.
“We continue to take great pride in how Investors In People recognise the effort we put into supporting and valuing the members of our team all over the world,” explained Louise Flynn, head of HR at EPIC Global Solutions.
“The phrase ‘people-first organisation’ is something that we regularly use, but it only rings true if our people and partners believe it, so recognition in this form helps to indicate that what we aspire towards is genuinely happening on a day-to-day basis.
“Every year, we are assessed in great detail by the IIP team and have continued to receive fantastic feedback for the way we operate, so it motivates us to keep striving for even better standards when we receive confirmation of an award nomination or improved status.
“We’re in a high-quality category alongside some fantastic organisations who can all feel justifiably proud of reaching this stage of the process, and it will be a considerable honour for whoever receives the award at the ceremony in November.”
Speaking after awarding Platinum status to EPIC in 2023, IIP customer service excellence assessor Andrew Mackey spoke about an overwhelmingly positive set of results from staff surveys and interviews that really caught his eye, revealing:
“EPIC recorded some incredibly positive survey results, with almost no negative responses from the staff that we spoke to. There is a huge sense of trust in the company’s staff, with people having freedom to deliver. They’re given real empowerment and are encouraged to challenge where necessary.
“Everyone I spoke to was really proud to work for EPIC and share a clear passion for what they do.
“There is a clear focus within EPIC on developing and maintaining a cultural approach that protects the status quo in the business and makes sure that people continue to be engaged, recognised and valued for their contribution, but also seen more holistically as people, each with a unique set of needs.”
