Education: Busy Week of Delivery for EPIC

EPIC Risk Management has had a busy week hitting the road delivering gambling-harm minimisation programmes.

EPIC facilitators have spoken to over 1,250 pupils across eight schools in both the independent and state schools’ sector, delivering bespoke in-school awareness sessions using impactful, real-life stories that offer students practical advice around safer gambling.

“There is a spotlight on gambling among young people, and we believe that working with the education sector to increase awareness around safer gambling and gaming is imperative.,” said EPIC Risk Management’s Director of Educational Programmes, Patrick Foster. “In these times of COVID-19, it’s been challenging for everyone in the education sector to plan in what is an extremely uncertain time, so to be able to get to deliver our sessions in-person, taking into consideration the respective COVID-19 measures, has been extremely pleasing.”

“Whilst it is great to be delivering face-to-face, we also recognise that this is not possible for many others. It is heartening to hear that our online and pre-recorded talks are being well received in what are challenging times for many sectors.”

Further to their work in the Education sector, EPIC Risk Management have continued their programme with Costain Skanska Joint Venture (CSjv) EWC Enabling Works Contract aligned with their client HS2 Ltd, to provide a better understanding of addiction and its potential impact on CSjv workforce’s mental health.

EPIC’s Patrick Foster and Scott Davies were on-site to deliver facilitating engagement tours that provided opportunities for further awareness around addiction and mental health, discussing problems on-site, all conducted within the guidelines of the strict Covid-19 site control measures.
