Craig’s people skills will be crucial in his new role

Craig Cornforth will begin 2025 in a new role at EPIC Global Solutions as he assumes the responsibility of senior business development manager, knowing that his colleagues have already given him their full backing for his ‘people’ skills.

One of our five winners at 2024’s inaugural EPIC Values Awards, Craig was recognised for being the best example of someone living by the value of ‘People’ that sits alongside Authenticity, Excellence, Integrity and Collaboration as the five most valuable traits for EPIC employees.

Having spent his first three years at the company as a member of the safer gambling team – engaging directly with industry operators to help them to learn from his lived experience of problem gambling – from next year onwards, he will be rekindling many of the skills that served him so well in a sales background before he joined the globally-leading gambling harm prevention specialists.

In doing so, a brand new audience will get to experience the charismatic, effervescent and uplifting presence he brings to his work – something that was crucial to him receiving so many nominations for his recent peer-voted prize.

When nominating him for the award, one colleague referenced how Craig is ‘always looking to ‘level-up’ our people and share best practise across teams’, while another shared a similar sentiment, explaining:

“Craig reaches far and beyond to all in his determination to see people constantly better themselves, be it internally here at EPIC, or the many clients he sees all over the world.”

He was also commended for the uplift in morale he engenders among colleagues, with a further appraisal listing:

“From guiding and honing facilitators delivery at EPIC, to challenging conversations with industry staff in the many training sessions he is part of, Craig really is a unique and brave individual.

“Most importantly, he’s proud to see people come away feeling and being better about themselves in their work life.”

Reflecting on the personal accolade, the man himself – a keen football fan – used an analogy that many sports fans will recognise when talking about the award he received.

“I was both surprised and humbled winning the “players’ player” award,” he explained.

“I’ve spent my entire professional career working with people and it’s the part of EPIC that I love the most,  I’m very lucky and never take for granted to be able to spend time with our teams both sides of the Atlantic.

“I’ve done a lot of bad things in my ‘previous life’, so to be able to give back is a huge priority to me. To be voted by the people I work with means so much.”

We look forward to 2025 with considerable excitement to see Craig flourish in his new role; those who will get to meet him for the first time as a consequence are in for a treat!
