A double award winning week for EPIC

It was another night of celebration for EPIC Risk Management who recorded back-to-back award victories this time scooping the Team of the Year Award at the Insider North West International Trade Awards.

The North West region’s best international success stories were celebrated last night at the black tie event at the impressive Lowry Hotel, Salford. The event showcased the achievements of the pioneers, innovators, and the global success stories of the past year, the evening was compered by Stuart Goldsmith and was held in association with the Department for International Trade North West with a number of key note speakers taking to the stage throughout the evening.

EPIC were shortlisted in the Team of the Year award category alongside high profile businesses ApconiX and Vision Linens with the Insider International Trade Awards judging panel selecting EPIC as award winners, as they explained:

“This company pivoted successfully to online delivery and management of its team during the pandemic, which kept its market entry plans on track at a time when the firm could easily have lost all its momentum in its development in the export market.”

A team of EPIC staff were on hand to accept the award which included events and wellbeing manager Pippa Robson, head of business support Louise Flynn, head of communications and brand Matt Hennessey, digital content producer Matt Sillitoe and senior director of the company John Millington who spoke about his pride on claiming the Team of the Year award, as he reflected:

“We are very proud of the progress we have made in the US market in a very short time. The challenges of the pandemic meant that we had to pivot quickly to be able to continue to deliver our services in an online world.

“Our success in executing during this time created a strong foundation that has led to a number of ground breaking programmes through which EPIC is able to deliver gambling harm prevention services to some of the highest risk populations on a national scale in the US.

“None of this would be possible without the talented and dedicated team people who have been integral to our success. We are proud and extremely humbled to see the team – a team who has nearly half of its members in recovery from gambling addiction – recognized with this award.”

It has been a special last couple of weeks for the business with last night marking three award victories in just under two weeks following on from Wednesday night’s Vixio Award win as well as CEO Paul Buck becoming a Great British Entrepreneur award winner, last week.
