EPIC Risk Management reach agreement with Tabcorp
EPIC Risk Management have reached an agreement with Tabcorp, Australia’s largest gambling operator, to deliver three safer gambling programmes to its employees.
The globally-leading gambling harm minimisation consultancy will work with the organisation that ranks as the third largest betting operator in Asia – and one of the largest worldwide – to deliver executive training, gambling harm awareness, and its acclaimed ‘Interactions Masterclass’ programme.
EPIC have an established and successful series of partnerships in place with a number of the world’s biggest gambling operators, working on a combination of education, training, advice and consultancy to try and minimise gambling-related harm and enhance player protection.
Using the knowledge, insight and understanding that personal experience brings to improve lives, around half of the company’s employees have lived experience of serious gambling harm, which is channelled in bespoke fashion for the needs of partner organisations to take the problem out of gambling; preventing gambling from harming people and organisations. This is primarily within some of the highest-risk sectors for gambling harm, including professional sport, education, financial services, the construction industry and within the gambling industry itself.
Based in Melbourne, the Tabcorp partnership represents a major step towards EPIC’s intention to expand within the Australasian market. The company recently increased its visibility and awareness within Australia via a series of key events within Sydney and Melbourne, including speaking on a lived experience panel at the IAGR22 conference and hosting a discussion on gambling harm minimisation with senior representatives from most of the country’s leading sports leagues and governing bodies.
Clients already working with EPIC within Australia include Cricket New South Wales, with lived experience facilitators delivering their lived experience story to both men’s and women’s professional and pathway players on an ongoing basis.
Martin Bland, director of business development at EPIC Risk Management, has welcomed the new project, explaining:
“As one of the biggest gambling operators in the world, it is crucial that EPIC can bring its expertise to a workforce of more than 5,000 people, to help try and significantly reduce the risk of gambling-related harm occurring across any of Tabcorp’s brands.
“We look forward to commencing our working relationship with Tabcorp and trust that we will provide some key support in relation to player protection throughout the organisation.”
